CIS Recruiting Process
1. Discuss the student-athlete's motivation to pursue their academic and sports career in Canada.
2. Assess the student-athlete's academic competencies and athletic abilities.
3. The student-athlete must verify their eligibility status.
4. Determine what entrance exam the student-athlete needs to write.
5. Create a list of universities that caters to the student-athlete's needs.
6. Create a profile to distribute to targeted coaches.
7. Follow-up with coaches. The student-athlete has a responsibility to initiate contact with the coaches.
8. Get in touch with the coach. Do not be shy to ask him or her questions about their program, school environment and more.
9. If possible, try to visit the school. See what it's like to be on campus.
10. How much will going to school cost your family (tuition, insurance, room & board, travel, and more)?
