High School Recruiting Process
1. Discuss their motivation to pursue thier academic and sports career in a prep-school either in Canada or the United States.
2. Assess the student-athlete's academic competencies and athletic abilities.
3. Determine what entrance exam the student-athlete needs to write (S.A.T., A.C.T., and/or TOEFL).
4. Create a list of high-schools that caters to the student-athlete's needs.
5. Create a profile to distribute to targeted coaches.
6. Follow-up with coaches. The student-athlete has a responsibility to initiate contact with the coaches.
7. Get in touch with the coach. Do not be shy to ask him or her questions about their program, school environment and more.
8. If possible, try to visit the school. See what it's like to be on campus.
9. There are no athletic scholarships. Determine how much going to school will cost your parents.
